You're becoming a long and difficult-to-spell household name.

家喻戶曉: a household name

Ex: Lady Gaga has become a household name.

Yeah, it's supposed to be incredibly exclusive.

這一句的翻譯跟原文不太搭

exclusive 的意思在這邊是 "排外的，只有特定人士才能參加"

所以他才會說 "有位朋友在外面兩小時，還是不能進去" (見下圖)

所以這句話的意思其實是: 這間夜店應該只有特定人士才能去!

 I don't know, I just felt embarrassed.

感到丟臉: feel embarrassed

成熟: mature

幼稚: immature

 Somebody spilled gorgeous all over it.

Lily 在這邊把gorgeous的詞性拿來玩了一下~

gorgeous 是"形容詞" 可以用來形容人很帥、很正，也可以用來形容一個地方非常美麗、豪華、很棒等等

但是Lily在這裡把gorgeous 當成"名詞" 使用

說: 「有人把gorgeous 倒在你身上了!!」

其實意思就是: "You look gorgeous!"

 pairing them up with these cool gourmet cheeses.

非常美味的: gourmet (t不發音)

 

Wow, who knew being in a committed heterosexual relationship could make a guy so gay?  

My, oh, my.

There are some ferocious-looking cutlets here tonight. 

ferocious:凶猛的

cutlet 原本是用在食物 例如 chicken cutlet 炸雞塊 fish cutlet 炸魚塊 等等

後來衍生出了口語 "正妹" 、"辣妹" 的意思

不過這只適用於口語喔!

It's so stupid and arbitrary, isn't it? 

專制: arbitrary

尷尬: awkward

除非: unless

 They're watching Claire's ultrasound video.

 Claire and Austin just invited us to their fondue fest next Saturday night.

fondue: cheese 火鍋

 We're really starting to click with these guys.

click with someone: 和某人合得來

ex: I clicked with Tom the moment I met him.

也可以 click with something: 某東西讓你很喜歡

ex:  The new product clicked with consumers and was an instant success.

I put my ass and probably other parts of my body on the line to come down here and party with my bro. 

put something on the line: 拿 某東西 來冒險

Marshall went to the dentist and got a temporary crown put in. 

crown 平常第一個會讓人想到的應該是皇冠

牙冠也叫做 crown

Marshall just ditched out on our own party.

ditch: 丟下、拋棄

ex: The thief ditched the purse in an alley.
(小偷把偷來的包包丟在小巷裡)

His girlfriend ditched him.

(他女友把他甩了)

They ditched me at the concert.

(他們在聽演唱會的時候把我拋棄了)

 These clubs are supposed to be fun, right? 

應該(如何如何): it is supposed to...

Well, I hate to take his side, but come on, a wine tasting?

take sides: 選邊站

ex: They were arguing, but I didn't want to take sides, so I left.  

 I heard that in college you flashed a campus tour group on a dare.

flash 平常的意思是"閃爍" (另外也有 "飛馳" 的意思)

像是手電筒叫做 flashlight 就是因為他是閃光燈

所以在這裡flash 不是"激怒"

不僅如此，他其時衍生出了另一個意思

是暴露狂對別人暴露身體的行為，叫做"flash"!

所以Robin 說 "you flashed a campus tour group" 意思是 Lily 對 參觀校園的人們暴露身體

dare 是"敢"的意思

(前幾集友介紹過)

truth or dare: 就是真心話(truth)大冒險(dare)

所以on a dare 就是在玩"大冒險"的時候 (在英文其實比較偏向 "你敢不敢..."的遊戲)

icky: 不舒服

身體不舒服也可以說: I feel icky.

I'm sorry! I just assumed...

assume: 假定、以為
